From the magnificent ambience of the entrance hall which met our arrival, to the absolutely impressive welcome we received from the hospitality desk staff we knew we were in for a tremendous time. There was one morning, we woke up to find a lot of the same insects (we think look like mosquitoes) on the ceiling of our balcony outside. Can't say the Asian cuisine was all that authentic but who goes Greece for Asian anyway? We have stayed in many 5 Star All inclusive hotels and this is by far the best. We couldnt get in anywhere for the first 2 nights, but booked the rest in one go. Interiors-wise, each resort has its own feel but we think Aria and Odisia both truly knock it out of the park for chic sophistication. And all the usual popular offerings like the one bedroom bungalow suite, suites with a private garden, and even just those with a garden view. Like all the Ikos resorts, children are exceptionally well catered for with the same universal childcare offerings at the kids clubs and babysitting. At the Olivia in 2016 we upgraded to a double bungalow (for 2) in the grounds. The hotel is clean and of a high class. There is less of it at the Olivia and more easily navigated. We had breakfast and lunch there a handful of times and really enjoyed the food and wine. The standard/quality was excellent. The food and wine were excellent, but overall it was our least favourite of all the restaurants across both hotels. Consequently the Olivia is a much larger, spread out site; with lovely gardens, olive trees and flowers (the Olivia had flowers etc too, and looked lovely, but just didnt have the large grounds to make it as effective). We ended up at the main pool as we didnt want to be around people who thought that was an acceptable way to behave. The return flight to East Midlands was straightforward on both occasions and the car was a 30 second stroll from the Departure exit FINAL THOUGHTS:Despite all the fantastic things about holidaying at the Ikos Oceania and Olivia (especially the quality of the food and drink) we have come away with one overriding memory, and that is the absolutely fantastic service provided by the staff. Its located on the stunning Costa-del-Sol and around an hours drive from Malaga airport, so extremely well connected in terms of flights. Both our 4&6 yo seem happy to be in kids club particularly our 6 yo who seemed to want to spend her entire time there. My other 18k ride was with the in-house team offering and my provided bike was quite rubbish having a saddle which tilted up half way around and the staff not carrying tools to sort it. Having been spoilt with our boutique hotel experience at the Oceania, we were a little disappointed with the location, or at least we were on our first evening visit as our table overlooked the door out from reception to the main pool! Thats the way we like it :-)The evening:The theatre at the Oceania is indoors on the same floor as reception/main bar/Helios bar. There are plenty of sunbeds and, like the other resorts, enjoys an exclusive section for Deluxe Collection guests only. And, of course, theres always the famed 24 hour room service to take advantage of! Also appreciated was the booking directly done via Myrto, our personal holiday adviser. One positive is that due to a local law in Greece, they have to supply bottled water at extremely competitive (cheap) prices. And I have to say that after that, Ikos not only maintained this exceptional level throughout our stay but it exceeded it. Set around half an hour from Corfu Town (and half an hour from the airport), Ikos Dassia's 411 rooms and suites are divided across two sides of the 26 acre site - Sea, which is slightly closer to the beachfront, and Sky, which is slightly higher up. Aria stands out from the others thanks to its stylish, boho character that reeks of laidback cool. It still never feels crowded and, if anything, offers a more intimate feel that some may find more appealing. Unfortunately (or not really) what we didnt know was that was had book in on Greek night, which was when all the tables and chairs from the Greek were brought out and placed on the poolside and Greek music and dancing took place.
